.. The following is a continuation of our yesterday’s report:— Ladies’ Cup (steeplechase) ; about one and a half miles. A. Mathias 1 T. S. Baker 2 250 Yards Flat Race. J. C. N. Crigg 1 F. W. Hunt 2 F. N. Robinson 3 TO-DAY’S SPORTS. The weather to-day was much more favorable for the holding of out-door sports, than that of yesterday, although a keen wind made standing about cold work. The attendance was very small at the commencement of the proceedings, but gradually increased until it reached about the same as that of yesterday. The first events to come off were two belonging to yesterdays programme, which had been deferred on account of the inclemency of the weather. They were the Long Jump, and Hop Stop and Jump. LONG JUMP. H. Knight (18ft. 3in.) ... 1 J. O.N. Grigg (18ft. 2in.) 2 There were five competitors for this event. HOP, STEP AND JUMP. H. Knight (39ft.) 1 E; N. Robinson ... ... 3 120 YARDS HURDLE RACE. First Heat. W. H. Newton 1 F. N. Robinson ... ... 2 Second Heat. H. G. Tosswill 1 H. Knight 2 Final Heat. F. N. Robinson 1 H. G. Tosswill 2 This race was over nine flights of hurdles. Time (final heat) 19 3-5 secs. I'JHiOWXITtr uitrciCTiT daii.. E. N. Robinson (104yds 2ft din) 1 T. S. Baker (102yds Sin) ... 2 There wore four competitors for this event. After Baker’s defeat by Bobinson and the finish, lie again threw and succeeded in beating Bobinson. This, however, of course did not count, the judges having decided. ONE MILE RUNNING RACE. F. W. Hunt 1 A. S. Baker ... 2 A. Mathias ... ... ... 3 Seven competitors came to the post. Perry jumped away with the lead and was closely followed by Jones, the rest keeping well up to their work. Perry was the first to complete the first lap and Jones came next. Perry was again the first to pass the post at the conclusion of the second lap, but lie noAV suddenly wont out, to the surpise of some present, having spurted too much at the start to maintain his pace, and he was almost immediately followed by Jones, At the conclusion of the third lap Baker was first, Hunt being second. It now became almost a neck and neck race between the two ; towards the finish, how- , over, Hunt got the advantage of Baker and maintained it to the finish. Time — smin. 12sccs.
