Melbourne, March 23. —Application has been made n Banco against Mr David Sytne, proprietor of the Melbourne “ Age,” for contempt of Court in commenting on the action for libel which has been brought against the Melbourne “ Punch,” while the case was still suh judice. Suspended. Brisbane, March 23.—Wells the Cunnanvulla bushranger, was hanged yesterday. Stocking The Islands. Sydney, March 33. —The Chandernagoro, which recently arrived from New Ireland, where a colonising party was lauded, she has, after some difficulty, obtained a clearance for Liverpool, and will sail shortly for that port. She will, however, again visit New Ireland. A Challenge Declined. Hanlon, the Canadian sculler, has gent a cable message to Trickett with reference to the latter’s chaleuge to meet in England. Hanlon says he cannot possibly proceed to England to meet Trickett.
