WALKING MATCH.

A walking match between Grleeson and D. 11. Buckingham, took place at Waimate on Saturday night. The match was for £5 aside and the door money. Buckingham received half a mile start, in seven miles, and he kept his lead, winning with comparative ease. In a three mile match afterwards for £1 aside, between David Buckingham and C. G-oodson, the latter was disqualified for running, and Buckingham received the money.
