[Reutee’s Agency.] Parliamentary Bevels. Melhouene, Jim. 22.—Parliament reassembled on Tuesday, and there was a scene of continued excitement in the Assembly last night. Strangers were again excluded. The dissolution takes place on Feb. 5. Tbe Drama in Disgrace. No performance took place last night at the Academy of Music, in consequence of a prohibition issued by Mr Perry. Another Bushranger. Sydney, Jan. 22.—An attempt was made to-day by a mounted man to bail up some Chinese living near Gundagai. The matter was reported to the police, who are now in pursuit of the supposed bushranger. Distress all Bound. A meeting will be held at Newcastle to-morrow to consider means to alleviate the distress existing amongst miners in the district. A sum of £5500 has been remitted to the Lord Mayor of London as a contribution towards the Irish Pelief Fund. Thirty-six Chinese residents subscribed together the sum of £ll4. The Hangman’s Friend.
Mr Buchanan has tabled a motion censuring the Governor for comnmtting the sentences of Williams and Bennett.
