WAIMATE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The ordinary meeting of the above Council was held last evening. Present —The Mayor, and Crs. Goldsmith, Middleton, Sherwin, Cameron, Gascoyne, Evans, and Hayes. Mr Finn, the Town Clerk, tendered his resignation. It was resolved that the resignation be accepted, and that Mr Finn rescind one month’s salarv.
It was resolved to advertise for applications from persons willing to undertake the duties of Town Clerk, and that Mr Connell be appointed temporary clerk at a salary of £3 per week until the appointment of a permanent clerk.
