Inspector Pender stated that Smith had been eight days in custody, and had now, he thought, recovered. He was discharged. ROBBERY WITH VTOLKNCK. William Riley and Robert Robertson were charged with the above offence. Inspector Pender intimated that there was more than one charge against the accused. The police were not in a position to proceed with the case to-day, and he'would ask that the accused might an remanded to Wednesday. Remanded accordingly. ALLKOKD FRAUDULENT BANKRUPTCY. John Coll was charged with the above offence. Mr White appeared to prosecute, and Mr Tosswill to defend, the accused. Mr White intimated that he was not prepared to proceed noth the case today, but and applied for a remand in order that certain witnesses he had subphocned might be in attendance. The accused was remanded until Wednesday, bail being accepted for his appearance —himself in .£2OO, and two sureties of £IOO each. The Court then adiourned.
