HOUSE OF EErEESEXTATIYES. Monday, Dec. 1. Mr Dick presented a petition, signed signed by 1400 residents of Dunedin and the suburbs, relative to the encouragement of local manufactures, Ac., which was read and referred to the Tariff Committee. Sir George Grey presented a petition, signed by si)o residents of Canterbury, complaining of the conduct of the Hon. John Hall, and Messrs Moorehousc, Eollcston, and Wm. Saunders, relative to the maladministration of the Waste Lands of that provincial district re the abuse known as gridironing. In reply to Mr Pyke, Major Atkinson said the Government would agree to a recommittal of the Estimates, tor the purpose of reconsidering the reduction of the honorarium. Eesolutions from the Committee of Supply were reported, read, and agreed to. The amendments made by the Legislative Council in the Qualification of Electors Pill were considered and agreed to. ' The House then went into Committee of Supply. [By Telegraph.] The House sat till nearly two this morning. Tlic Public Works vote for railways was reduced by £27,777; Wellington magazine, £IO3O. was reduced by £ISOO ; public buildings reduced by £1370.
