TIMAEU CLUB. ■ ENGLAND. V. COLONIES. This match was commenced on Saturday last on the Clubs’ grounds. Want of punctuality on the part of the players was again noticeable, play not being commenced till 3.4 p.m., when the Colonials took the field, putting on C. Perry and Blundell as bowlers to A. Godby and C. Fraser. During Perry’s first over two extras were obtained, and in Blundell’s “ pipe opener,” a single apiece was -obtained ..by ,the. batsmen. After runningmp a total of 7 the now man displayed*! want of caution, and was stumped by Fowler; 63, 6, 7. Clissold. joined Godby, and tipped three singles, which Ms partner followed with a boundary hit for four, when Clis-

sold was bowled by D’Emden; 75, 7, J 4. ::Eihg and Squires next went in, in the; order named, but failed to alter the indicator,-. both being bowled by I) Emden. Black only scored a double, when Perry bailed him with a “yorker.” Lindsay, the last man, was served in a similar manner on assuming the defensive, the innings closing for 77. Godby, the not out man, scored 31, ineluding one 4, two 3’s, six 2’s, and singles. Blundell and Ferry were the - first to represent the Colonials at, the; wicket, Hamcrsley and Fraser •bowling. Together they ran up 29 before Perry’s retirement was caused Fya~’decision in favor of the bowler in a leg before appeal. Mansfield went in, but was dismissed, just as time was called, before he had broken the ice, the indicator being then 32, 2, 0.
