SEAMEN’S CHAPEL, APIA.

Public worship has been regularly conducted every Sabbath since the chapel was erected. As may be expected, the attendance has been fluctuating ; but altogether, in the course of a year, a large number from various parts of the world listen there to the truths of the Gospel. May it eventually prove, that not a few, but many, have done so with lasting benefit to their souls.

We felt gratified with the opportunity which Captain Magruder, of the U.S.S. “ St. Mary’s,” afforded us of preaching on board, whilst the ship lay here. A more orderly and attentive crew than that of the “ St. Mary’s” is rarely, if ever, met with.

It may not be out of place, to mention that, though our services in the Seamen’s Chapel are altogether gratuitous, there are, from time to time, various current expenses to be met, in the way of keeping the building in repair. We have, therefore, to look to kind friends for the necessary aid.
