Revenue Required $000 $12.9 The four quarterly billings will be calculated on the basis of actual water consumptions, as measured by the meter at each quarterly rest. In June 1 998 the actual total consumption for the 1997/98 year will be established. If the total charged over the four quarters, based on actual consumption, is less than the Separate Uniform Annual Charge, fixed for the supply, an adjustment will be made and levied and included on the fourth quarter billing to make the total amount payable equal to the annual minimum charge. Discount for Prompt Payment of Water Billing Charges (Section 131 of the Act) A discount of 10% shall be allowed for water charges paid by the discount date as stated on the water by meter account. 4.4 Water Billing Cycle The charge made for water supplied by way of meter shall be levied separately, from the other rates and charges made by Council under the Act. The due date for the charges shall be the last payment date printed on the account for water supplied. This account will be forwarded no later than the second week at the end of each quarter. 5.0 DISTRICT REFUSE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL CHARGES (Section 24 of the Act) The Refuse Collection Charges are levied for the purpose of providing a household refuse collection service. 5.1 A Separate Uniform Annual Charge for the collection of refuse, in respect of each separately used or inhabited portion of a property or building, for which Council is prepared to provide the service within the Ruapehu District.
