Winpulp and Ruapehu College Girls A team played the first game on Sunday night and Winpulp proved too good for the girls, winning four sets to nil. The game between McCarthy's and Ruapehu College Girls B team was a well contested game between two evenly matched teams and it seemed appro-
priate for it to end in a oneall draw. The third game of the evening was probably the best of the night with the unbeaten Try Hards playing the Telecom team. There were some good rallies and well contested points with Telecom coming out the eventual winner 2-0 thanks largely to Brian Mason's play at the net. Tomb Raiders and Dreamers also had a closely contested game with Tomb Raiders winning two sets to one to give Dreamers their first loss for the round. The Just Us girls are im- . proving every week with some of their team, Bubba Hope, Jackie Gupwell and Tina Wallace in particular, putting in a good effort last night. Unfortunately Buckskin were able to hold them out and win 3-0. Dreamers and Telecom share first place at the end of round one with six wins and one loss a piece and in second place with five wins and two losses were Buckskin and Tomb Raiders. Try Hards didn't play as a team on the first night but their five wins and one loss puts them in third position. Registration night for round two will be held on 20 July and captains will be
contacted with a reminder prior to then. Any new teams wishing to enter should come along on the night.
