Mr Marsh and helpers have had upwards of forty budding young players on Friday afternoons. The group has been split into two groups of differing levels. Some juniors travelled to Ashurst to play two Sunday s ago with good resuits. On Sunday 29 June, juniors will be travelling to a tournament in Taihape for beginner players. Central region coach Graham Randolf has been running a very successful coaching programme on Wednesdays thanks to financial support from the Hillary Commission. In the afternoon he takes a Ruapehu College group. After school he takes some of the top primary school players and then individual seniors in the evening.

There are two more sessions left. Seniors were busy cutting firewood as a fundraiser last weekend. Some truckloads are still available by contacting a committee member. Organisation is well under way for the upcoming DB Open Toumament on 18, 19 and 20 July. An interhouse competition will start on 26 June and interested players are asked to put their names up on the noticeboard. District elimination teams will be selected sooii . Ohakune combined with Waimarino will be bosting the D-grade this year on 25, 26 and 27 July.
