Turoa Tumblers
On Sunday 1 June the Turoa Tumblers competitive squad attended the Palmerston North YMCA gymnastics competition. All gymnasts performed well but the more notable resuits were Fiona Lynch gaining first place in the Level 4 vault exercise and third place in the Level 4 beam; Donna Deadman gaining first place in the Level 3 floor routine and 12th place overall out of 49 gymnasts, and Jackie Laurenson's third placing in the Level 3 floor routine and 9th place overall. Donna, Jackie and Clare Lynch all qualified for Level 4. Individual points were: Level 3: Donna Deadman bar 7,85; beam 8.9; floor 9.1; vault 8.166; fifth rotation 8.3; Jackie Laurenson bar 8. 1 ; beam 9.0; floor 8.8; vault 8.466; fifth rotation 8.2; Clare Lynch bar 7.675; beam 8.5; floor 8.7; vault 8.333; fifth rotation 8.05; CarieWebbbar7.975;beam 8.05; floor 8.3; vault 8.033, fifth rotation 8.05; Lindy Deadman bar 7.85; beam 9.05; floor 8.3; vault 8.166; fifth rotation 7.45; Rachael Lynch bar 7.5; beam 8.0; floor 8.5; vault 7.933; fifth rotation 7.8. The level three team of Donna, Jackie, Carie and Clare was placed fourth overall a creditable performance for these girls. Level 4: Fiona Lynch beam 8.95; vault 8.85; floor 8.7; bar 6.0, fifth rotation 7.95. Level 5: Cassie Nation beam. 6. 6, vault 7.85; floor 8.0; bar 8.45; fifth rotation 8.55.
