New Zealand National Youth Choir
Musical Director: Dr Karen Grylls The New Zealand National Youth Choir has achieved considerable success since its formation in 1979. Performances around New Zealand and four international tours have firmly established the Choir' s reputation for consistency, energy and excellence. Awarded the Silver Rose Bowl as overall best choir in the 1992 Let the Peoples Sing international competition, the Choir appeared at the 1993 World Choral Symposium in
Vancouver. The same year, the Choir' s first CD was joint winner of the classical section of the New Zealand Music Awards. The Choir has recently performed to critical acclaim at the New Zealand International Festival of the Arts, at the 4th World Choral Symposium in Sydney, and recorded the ENZSO album and toured with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and members of Split Enz.
