Dragon Heart
• I saw the movie "DragonHeart" in Ohakune last week. At first it seemed like a bit of light entertainment, but by the end I thought it one of the saddest films I've seen. The Dragon was presented as a wise and noble creature, here on earth to protect mankind from the consequences of this own depravity. The Dragon ends up sacrifiping himself and ascending to the stars. The people are left asking the question "what do we do now?", and the answer was ^ given "look to the stars". The reason for this was that the Dragon had left his earthly body but not died, he had gone to be reunited with the other Dragons - "in the stars". j This film mirrors the story of a man who was sent to earth to save a depraved mankind, who sacrificed himself and who, having died, ascended to* be reunited with his father. The sad part is that people are looking to the stars for an answer; whereas the answer actually lies with the | man who died and now lives — Jesus.
