Gate approved

A request to put up a gate across Old Mangawhero Road has been approved by the Waimarino Community Board. The road runs off Raetihi - Ohakune Road and joins up with Burns Street, although there is no public access across the bridge across the Mangawhero Stream as it is a private bridge, on land owned by the applicant, Murray Fredricksen. The gate has been erected at Mr Fredricksen' s boundary and does not affect any other land owners. Following the approval, the council will not maintain the road beyond the gate. The road remains a public road and the gate must not be locked, according to the council' s policy.
