Waiouru's new reporter
Meet Anne McElwain, the Ruapehu Bulletin's new Waiouru reporter, who replaces Michele Monaghan who left the district in December. Mrs McElwain comes to Waiouru with her husband, Roger, who is an instructor with the Tactical School at the Waiouru Army Training Group. They have two children, aged seven and five. Mrs McElwain said while they have been in Waiouru just three weeks, she is "very favourably impressed", saying they've had the best weather here that they have seen in a iong timo! They left Lower Hutt to move to Waiouru — the latest in a typical Army-styie five years of six moves. Mrs McElwain is a trained audiologist who has also worked as a probation officer, depending on her husband's posting. She can be contacted on 06-387-6639 with Waiouru news tips.
