More bouyant lamb prices

Last Thursday' s lamb sale saw yet again buoyant prices, with 210 wether lambs from Kawau farms fetching a top price of $49. 10. Other wether lambs realised from $3 1 .00 for late and/or small framed stock to $44.00. Male lambs made $30,00 up to $42.50. Ewe lambs ranged from $27.70 up to $45.00 from Ngapuke Station. There were some M/ S $36.00 and $36.50.

According to Bully Chambers, Williams and Kettle, prices were pleasing with buyers coming from Masterton, Waipukurau, Rangitikei and Wanganui. Once again there was a good tally of about 12,500 and farmers seemed pleased although the dollar had dropped slightly since the previous sale on 16 January. The next sale is set down for 13 February, a two-toothed and mixed aged ewe fair.
