Cadet unit aims for personal development

The Rangitikei Ruapehu Cadet Unit has started training for 1997 with activities programmed each Tuesday night at Waiouru starting at 6.15pm. A new intake of cadets will start on Tuesday 1 1 February and any person between 1 3 and 1 6 is eligible to enrol. Cadets is a disciplined training organisation for youth with a focus on teamwork and providing an interesting, ' competitive, and adventurous programme aimed at the J personal development of members. The first three months' training concentrates on discipline and personal development before cadets progress to activities such as navigation, camping, weapon safety and shooting and adventure pursuits.
