• On Wednesday evening a local 22-year-old man was arrested for theft of light bulbs and disorderly behaviour. • On Friday night a Wanganui man was arrested in Raetihi for assaulting his wife in Wanganui on an earlier date. • On Saturday evening a 1 5-year-old was arrested for the burglary of a Goldfinch Street address and a quantity of stolen property recovered. • Also on Saturday evening a Ruatiti man was arrested for dangerous driving after he was observed driving his truck on the wrong side of the road and swerving within both lanes. Further charges were laid when he was found to be in possession of cannabis leaf. Police are also awaiting the result of a blood sample taken from the man to ascertain his blood alcohol level. • Later that night police were called to Raetihi to a report of shots being fired. Subsequent investigation revealed that the noise heard had actually been fireworks. • Police attended one domestic situation and although no arrests were made firearms were removed from the address for safe keeping. • It was a quiet week on the roads with no crashes reported. However, the speed camera car was quite active in the area.
