Ohakune pet show includes 'weirdly wonderful'

By OPS pupil

Megan

Laurenson

On Friday 22 No vember Ohakune Primary School held a very successful pet day. The whole junior school participated and lots of pupils from the kura kaupapa did as well. There were categories for dogs, cats, lambs, calves, creepy crawlies, small fluffy and fury and weirdly wonderful. There was also a section for scones, pikelets, sand

saucers, animals made from vegetables, a vase of flowers or weeds and a cake decorated as a cat. The judging for that section took place in the hall and the judging for the animals took place in an arena on the ield. Money was raised by auctioning off the winning cat cake, through the cake and plant stalls, a barbecue and a raffle. All the money raised went to wet day boxes. It was a wonderful day and all the kids did really well.
