Trophy for Raetihi culture group

The Raetihi School Maon Culture group came home Sunday last week, having won the junior sectioh of regional Maori cultural competition held at Manu Ariki in Taumarunui on Saturday 9 November. Their trophy is the Taupo-Nui-A-Tia award, competed for by children aged 11-13. Colleen Hansen, the schools' head kaiako, said she was particularly proud of her group as their ages ranged from 5-13 years. There weren't enough children to make up a

group for the midget section so the little ones joined the older group. They competed against Tongariro Junior High, Te Awamutu Intermediate and the Ranana Nui Tonu group.
