Women's bowls

Ohakune' s women bowlers held onto the Simonson's Cup when challenged by Raetihi last Thursday 10 October. They beat the challengers 23- 1 7 on a green that played very well for the time of year. Their next challenge is against the St John's Club. Correction: Last week's Bulletin photo of the opening of the bowls season carried an incorrect caption. The woman bowling was Fay Smith, the Wanganui Women's Centre counsellor. Molly Spooner is the delegate to the Wanganui Centre for Ohakune, and the president of the Ohakune club is Rita Kaiwhare.
