Wild horses cause traffic problems
Waiouru Police File • During the week there were three separate reports of Kaimanawa horses in close proximity to the Desert Road. On one occasion they had to be moved away from the area of the pony club. • Police also attended a crash on State Highway 49 where a car stopped for a horse on the road and was hit by the car behind. • Police are investigating a theft from an address in Thornton T errace and a theft from the W aiouru W elcome Inn. • A Waiouru woman has been charged with careless driving after she lost control of her car on the intersection of State Highways 49 and One, resulting in her crashing and the car catching fire.
