• Ohakune police attended a motor vehicle accident 8 km east of Ohakune on State Highway 49, on Friday evening. A motor vehicle left the road and rolled through a fence into a paddock. The three occupants received minor injuries. • On Friday evening an assault took place outside a Thames Street licensed premises. A local man received numerous injuries. Police are aware several persons witnessed this assault. Police said they know who these witnesses are and would like them to come forward. • On Saturday evening police were called to a local wine shop. On arrival a

drunk, unco-operative local man was found inside the shop. Police enquiries revealed that the man, along with two youths aged 14 and 15 were shoplifting wine. Police later located the very-intoxicated children and they were arrested. When sober, one was returned to his mother. The other was transported to a youth home. A police

spokesman said the "15-year-old crimewave" will be facing several charges. • Police are investigating several thefts from dwellings in Ohakune. One was to a Goldfinch Street address where the occupants were asleep upstairs. Clothing and shoes were taken from that address. A mountain bike and ski boots were removed from another address some time over the last three weeks.
