• A Raetihi man was arrested for assaulting his partner at a Raetihi address last week. He will appear in the Ohakune District Court on 19 September. • The premises of Harris Harvey Nash in Raetihi was burgled overnight on 7 September. The offender smashed the front window to gain entry. The offices were ransacked but apparently nothing was taken. • Police attended a motor vehicle accident on the corner of Lakes Road and Raetihi Road on Thursday. The driver decamped but was later located and spoken to by police. • A pair of green 'Arnet' sunglasses were stolen from the Youth Hostel in Clyde Street, Ohakune on the weekend. A green mountain bike jacket was stolen from the drying room of the Mountain View Motel in Ohakune overnight on Saturday. Ski clothing was removed from an inside clothes line at a premises in Railway Row overnight on Saturday. The offender entered via an unlocked back door. Enquiries into the theft are continuing. • Offenders stole a large quantity of clothing and personal effects belonging
to a Fielding Agricultural High School group, who were staying at the Raetihi Marae on the weekend. The thefts took place while the group were visiting Turoa Ski ResOrt on Saturday. Police were able to locate most of the property with
the assistance of Marae elders. • Several Waimarino residents were issued with infringement notices for offences that included having no current warrant of fitness, and drivers who were not current licence holders.
