Special Order Ruapehu District Works Loan 1996 — $2,170,000 Public notice is hereby given that at its meeting held on 26 July 1996 the Council resolved by way of Special Order pursuant to Section 71 6B of the. Local Government Act 1974 and the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 to raise the above loan. The Specia! Order will be submitted for a confirming resolution at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held in the Council Chambers, Huia Street, Taumarunui, on Friday 30 August 1996 commencing at 1.00 pm. The purport of the Special Order resolution is to raise and make provision for repayment of the loan which is for: a Upgrading District Drainage Systems ($573,000) b Upgrading District Water Supplies ($57,000) c District Refuse Disposal ($40,000) d District Mainstreet Programme ($1,500,000) Copies of the resolution to be confirmed are deposited at Council Offices and Libraries in Taumarunui, Ohakune and Raetihi,. and are open for rnspection by the public during the normal opening hours of those Offices and Libraries. Attention is drawn to Section 34A of the Local Authorites Loans Act 1 956 which provides that any person shail be entitled to sign a demand for s poll of ratepayers if that person is enrolled on the ratepayer electoral roll or is a person whose name appears in the occupier cofumn of the valuation roll. No demand for a poll of ratepayers under Section 34(2) (b) of this Act shall be of any effect unless the number of valid signatures to the demand is equal to or greater than 1 5% of the number of the separately rateable properties on the valuation roll that are within the District. Every person who signs a demand for a poll of ratepayers under this section shall state against the signature the person's name and the address in respect of which that person is entitled to sign the demand. Any demand must be delivered to the Ruapehu District Council Office at Huia Street, Taumarunui no laterthan 9.00 am on Friday, 30 August 1996. Applicant: Environment Asset Manager for Ruapehu District Council Proposal: To establish a transfer station on Section 47 Block XIII Manganui SD (local purpose reserve - tree planting), situated on Raetihi-Ohura Road near the settlement of Orautoha on the site of the previous landfill, for the following purposes: (i) To operate a transfer statjon for the storage of refuse for up to one week while await.ing transportation to a landfill.
