Wasted rates

• If the Ruapehu District Council use ratepayers' money for this so-called tourist promotion campaign then they should be removed from office. Rate money should be used (for) what it is meant for, not on unnecessary hai rbrained schemes thought up

by some swelled-headed know-all on the council. I, for one, am sick of hearing the RDC going on about tourist this and tourist that: we locals are here all year, spending our money, the tourists only for a few

weeks. Don' t forget a lot of ordinary workers with families also fi'nd it hard pay ing rates and are getting very upset seeing their hard-earned money being wasted.

P S Bishop,

Rangataua
