• A 15-year old Ohakune youth was to appear in the Wanganui Y outh Court yesterday morning, to face charges of burglary, receiving stolen property, breach of bail and false pretences. He was arrested by local police on Saturday following a burglary of a Miro Street, Ohakune address, after he was confronted by an occupant of the house. • A Raetihi man appeared in the Wanganui District Court on Saturday, for the unlawful possession of a firearm. • A motor vehicle reported stolen from a Hamilton address was recovered in Ohakune last week. The vehicle had been 'borrowed' by a family member. • Waimarino police attended two separate non-injury motor vehicle accidents last week - one that occurred south of Raurimu on Wednesday, and a second on the Parapara Highway, on Thursday. Speed was a factor in both accidents. • A burglary to an Egmont Street property was reported to police on the weekend. • A 1 7-year old Auckland woman recei ved head injuries following a bicycle accident at the bottom of the Ohakune Mountain Road last Monday. A police spokesperson said it was fortunate the woman was wearing suitable head gear, as her injuries could have been a lot more serious. • Offenders broke into a Queen Street, Raetihi, property some time in the past few months and removed a large quantity of property that included nftmerous household electrical items. Enquiries into the burglary are continuing. • Police are following strong leads into theft of clothing from Jean City in Ohakune last week. • Police attended a non-injury accident at the Karioi Forestry Headquarters last Monday. The vehicle skidded on black ice and rolled. The driver of the vehicle escaped with minor injuries. • Police recovered a bag of cannabis that was left on the forecourt of the BP service station on Sunday. Enquiries into the owner of the property are continuing.
