• On 1 July a 29-year old local man was arrested when he punched a police constable who had stopped his car. • During the week a house in George Street, Raetihi, was burgled and a Kent fire was amongst stolen items. A house in Foyle Street, Ohakune, was also burgled with a microwave being part of the stolen property. • On Thursday night several letter boxes in Burns Street were smashed. There have also been reports of motel and street signs being stolen. • A trailer belonging to Turoa has been stolen from their Burns Street workshop. This is atandem trailer coloured grey, registration Z1758. • Last Tuesday three persons were detained after stealing firewood from the Mangawhero Lodge. • Between 9.00 pm and

10.00 pm Saturday night a bag of newspapers was set alight at the rear of the bookshop in Goldfinch Street, Ohakune. The fire was put out before any damage was caused to the premises and police would like to hear from anyone with information on this (06-385-855 1 ). • There were several minor crashes during the week mostly due to high speed in the icy road conditions. • Several driving complaints were received and followed up and despite the

road conditions the speed camera has been very active in our area.
