• During the week police attended two family domestic situations. However, no arrests were made. • A black briefcase was stolen from a red Mitsubishi van parked outside the Turoa Lodge last Tuesday moming. • On Tuesday evening a Mazda was stolen from the corner of Clyde Street and Burns Street. This was recovered a short time later near W aiouru and two local youths aged 1 5 and 1 6 years have been reported to youth aid as a result. • A search warrant was executed on a Raetihi address shortly after this and a car stereo stolen from the car was recovered. A Raetihi man has been charged with receiving this stolen property. • In a separate incident a search warrant was executed at an Ohakune address and a quantity of cannabis was located. • A burglary occurred at a ski chalet in Burns Street over the past couple of weeks with a quantity of property, mainly clothing, stolen. • The roads have been
relatively quiet. On Wednesday Police attended an accident in Crotons Road, Ruatiti where a truck working on road construction rolled after part of the road collapsed. The truck ended up in a river about 1 00 metres down. The driver was air lifted to hospital with serious injuries. Waiouru • Enquiries are continuing to locate a person disturbed by the publican of the Oasis Hotel
in the early hours of Friday morning trying to break into the Hotel office. The offender decamped after a brief struggle. • A stolen Suzuki motorbike was recovered at a residential address in Waioum. • A canvas bag containing cash was stolen from the cafe at the Army Museum on Sunday. • An 18-year-old male was charged with driving with excess breath alcohol after his vehicle was seen swerving over the road near the summit of the Desert Road. .
