Under 21's score 10 wins on the trot

Ruapehu under 21 's played their 10th winning game of rugby when they come up against Wanganui Pirates at home last Saturday in Raetihi. Having said that coach and manager, Marty McGrath and Rick Harding, both pointed out that "their boys" had 18 penalties called against them and it could have been a different result if Pirates were able to capitalise on these. The Ruapehu team fired well in the first half putting on the board 49 points to 4. Chris Winter had an excellent day with the boot converting 10 tries with only the last kick dropping away to the right of the post. The second half saw Pirates come back well attacking and driving on better, finally putting points on the board with a try and conversion. Tries for Ruapehu went to Adrian Mclntyre with 2, Terry Taumata 2, Mario Mareikura 1 , Ian Rowe 1 , Taylor Brown 1 , Craig Pye 1, Leonald Pierere 1 and Dalton Waara 2 tries. Chris Winter kicked 10 successful conversions. The full time scare 75-7. Chris Winter was player of the day.
