Waimarino darts

The Waimarino Dart Club held its first-ever super dart league competition which started last week with a total of 32 players in teams of four. Excellent darts were thrown by all non-players (those who don't play on aregularbasis as opposed to club members). A few who deserve mention were: Kevin Martin, Mina Cadwallader, Jimmy Christensen and Austin Brooks who all took the major prizes. Club members to the fore were Roz Foster, Barry Drinkwater, Stephanie Rapana, Fatty Hiroti and Olene Anderson who took out the high score with her first-ever 180. On Wednesday 22 May another good round of darts was played with games a lot closer. Good scores were thrown by Mickey Ahuriri, with a high score of 1 80 and the "old fella" Austin Brooks with a 1 80 start. Greg Windle and Lou Most took out the most wins with five apiece. Thanks to all players and sponsors for the first two rounds. Rounds three and four the final rounds with games becoming a bit more intense as teams fight it out for the top prize are still to come. Results so far: Outlaws 15; Once Were Warriors 18; Dream Team 17; Mission Accomplished 16; Mission Impossible 14; Hot Shots 13; Cheap Shots 11; Task Force 7.
