TLC needed

• Congratulations to the Mainstreet committee. The plans you have forwarded are truly impressive. However, what happens when the very persons we are aiming to attract and impress with our towns venture off the golden paved streets? Will they see beautiful towns or will they see our town as we locals do — in need of a large dose of TLC!? Perhaps they will notice the lack of footpaths, partial or no sealing of roads, insufficient street lighting, stormwater drainage problems, not forgetting the inadequate sewer system. I'm sure the list could easily be added to! Come on you guys, what's the point? Are you promoting a few streets or our towns as a whole? Also, if you can justify spending five million dollars on the "development and renewal" of our town centres why can't our everyday worries be solved? Lastly, has it not been ingrained in us to start at the bottom and work our way to the top?

Concerned Ratepayer.
