Win for Ruapehu Under 21's
Ruapehu Under 21 rugby team won at Spriggins Park on Saturday, against Wanganui Pirates scoring a creditable win of 24-3. The game was between the only two unbeaten sides in the competition to date. Pirates kicked a penalty six minutes into the game to lead 3-0. Ruapehu came back with tries to Andrew Jensen at 15 minutes and Tony W atts after 30 minutes with Chris Winter converting one to give Ruapehu a 1 2-3 lead at halftime. In the second half Kelly Arahanga and Charles Neil (Nails) touched down with Chris again converting one to make the final score 243. The whole team played well both on attack and defence and many of the public in Wanganui expressed their delight in style of rugby that Ruapehu play. Player of the day has again shared this time between Donovan Morris and Kelly Arahanga. Next week Ruapehu travel to Wanganui again to play Kaierau, a team the boys say they are really determined to beat.
