The Ruapehu Under 21 rugby team had another good win on Saturday at Ohakune beating Taihape Pirates 29/0. Ruapehu played the game at pace and scored in the first five minutes with winger Nick Bunker going in on the corner and Chris Winter converting. Ruapehu' s other winger Craig Pye scored in the first nine minutes. Loose forwards Taylor Brown and Duncan (fatboy) Metekingi each touched down later in the first-half withChris converting one bringing the half-time score to 24/0. Ruapehu had kept its opposition scoreless and also gained a bonus point for scoring four tries or more. A great team effort by backs and forwards. Player-of-the-day was shared by Taylor Brown and Glen. Ritchfield. Ruapehu now play Wanganui Pirates on Saturday at Spriggens Park at 1 2 noon in a Top-of-the-table clash. The coach and managers of the Ruapehu team are very proud that three of their players have been selected for a Central Zones, New Zealand Under 19 team to play at Wanganui on 5 May. The players are: Joe Metekingi, . James O'Hanlon and Nick Bunker.
