Top town coming to Raetihi

Top Town style competition is coming to Raetihi to raise funds for the Raetihi Volunteer Fire Brigade. The event, being organised by brigade roember Donna McGrath for Sunday 31 March at the showgrounds, is aimed to raise money for upgrading brigade equipment.

The four-person team competition is open to those 14 years and over, with an entry fee of $20. It will be an obstacle course highlighting competitors' skills, run on similar lines to the Top Town competitions seen on television some years ago. Trophies and medals will be presented to

the top three teams. An inflatable bouncy castle is to be brought in for the children, the Rugby Club will run a sausage sizzle and the Playcentre will have someone painting faces. The old fire engine will be on display during daylight hours as part of the promotion for this event.

Fire Brigade awareness Heather Munn from the Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade will be at the Raetihi Top Town event running fire brigade awareness

sessions as part of the service's fire prevention and education programme. For further details contact Donna McGrath, 3854381, or after hours- 3854679.
