Waiouru pharmacy depot to be decided
The Waiouru community will decide on the location of a pharmacy depot at a public meeting in the Community Hall on 21 February at 7pm. Since Moawhango Sports and Health Clinic's decision not to provide the depot service, it has in the interim been sited at Waiouru Pricecutter. Gaining public opinion on a suitable location for a pharmacy depot is a legal requirement and several options will be up for discussion. The Waiouru Health Group at a meeting last week discussed the depot situation and the possibility of health services being withdrawn from Waiouru because of lack of use. Asthma educator Maureen Hall has indicated to the group she will no longer visit Waiouru because of lack of referrals. The group also discussed their future, and a total breakdown was narrowly avoided when Reverend Sherri Weinberg agreed to continue to co-chair until the Annual General Meeting in June.
