This is the third of a series of articles, submitted by the Waimarino Association of Natural Therapies (WANT), aimed at improving the common good health of the community. How are you coping with stress? As much as 80 per cent of all painful physical conditions these days are stress related. By following some or preferably all of these suggested "10 commandments" you can make your life much more enjoyable - so give it a go and be a survivor! The Ten Commandments for Reducing Your Stress: • Thou shalt not be perfect, nor even try to be. • Thou shalt not be all things to all people. •
Thou shalt leave things undone that ought to be done. • Thou shalt not spread thyself too thin. • Thou shalt learn to say "no". • Thou shalt schedule time for thyself and thy supportive network. • Thou shalt switch off and do nothing regularly. • Thou shalt be boring, untidy, inelegant and unattractive at times. • Thou shalt not even feel guilty. • Thou shalt not be thine worst enemy but be thy best friend. Some of our previously-stressed clients have tried this advice in order to help them change their lifestyle and now thoroughly recommend it — for it does eventually sink in if seen every day — so cut this out and stick it up somewhere handy Best wishes from WANT.
