Police sergeant farewelled
After five years as Officer in charge at Ohakune police station Bob Evans is moving on to take up the position of Sergeant at Wanganui police station. Bob decided to move on when the top job at Ohakune station was upranked from Sergeant to Senior Sergeant, reflecting the greater workload in Ohakune. Bob says he and his family have mixed feelings about the move, on the one hand they are all looking forward to new challenges in Wan-
ganui and on the other they will all miss their friends in the Waimarino. Bob says he has enjoyed the past five years and on behalf of his family would like to thank all the supportive members of the community. Senior Sergeant Bielby, who is in charge at Taihape and prior to that was an instructor at police college in Porirua, will be arriving shortly along with his family to take up the position.
