WAIOURU POLICE FILE
Over the month of October Waiouru police processed seven people for drinking and driving. Three motor vehicle accidents on State Highway One were also attended during this period. • For the month of November Waiouru police have so far attended three accidents on SH 1 . The accidents did not involve serious injury. • Two men were recently arrested for separate incidents of alleged assault of a female. • Waiouru police have spoken to two juveniles about the burglary of the Waiouru cricket club over Labour Weekend. The pair were apprehended by military camp security and are being dealt with by youth aid. • On the night of 29 October a car parked outside the Oasis Hotel was broken into with the offender stealing clothing and cassettes. • More cases of tagging at the Waiouru Primary School have been reported. • A large group of juveniles have been spoken to after clothing, compact discs and alcohol were stolen from a property where a party had been held in early October. Waiouru police say some of the property has been recovered and enquiries are continuing. • The burglary of a flat on SH 1 resulted in clothing being stolen. Enquiries are continuing. • On Friday night or early Saturday morning a large rock weighing about 15 kilograms was hurled through the Waioum Vegemart window causing around $500 worth of damage. Waiouru police appeal to members of the public for any information regarding the damage and recent spate of burglaries.
