Caught at the recent Golden Oldies Rugby Tournament in Christchurch SITUATIQNS VACANT _l SITUATIQNS VACANT CONTRACTS CLERK The Ruapehu District Council wishes to recruit a Contracts Clerk to work within the Engineering Consultancy Unit which is the Council's internal consultant responsible for contract management. The appointee will be an important member of a hard-working, dedicated and professional team. The position is based in the Taumarunui office. The appointee will be required to process contracts payments and documentation for all contracts held by the Council and to undertake general administrative duties for the Unit. A high level of accuracy is essential. Good administrative and organisational skills are important as is a good Tevel of keyboard skills. Extensive experience with personal computers, spreadsheets and DOS systems is required. Good communication skills important. ACCOUNTS CLERK Due to a resignation Council requires the services of a person part-time to undertake general clerical duties for the Finance Unit in theTaumarunui office. Applications are requested from persons with general accounting experience and good clerical skills. The appointee will be given training in all areas of the Finance Unit's work including payroll, accounts payable and general accounting. Some experience with personal computers and spreadsheets is an advantage. We wish the appointee to work two days per week but be available to work further hours from time to time to relieve other staff. ENGINEERING CADET The Ruapehu District Council wishes to recruit an Engineering Cadet to work in the Engineering Consultancy Unit. The position will be Dased in theTaumarunui office. The Cadet will be required to study towards a New Zealand Certificate of Engineering. Applications are invited from young people with an interest in engineering or technology. They may be students who have at least a sixth form certificate or be a young person who left school a year or two ago and would like to continue to study whilst working. The successful applicant will be part of an efficient and hard-worxing team dealing with all aspects of Council's operations. The Cadet will be fully trained and will work closely with an experienced mentor. Study time during working hours will be provided along with fees and books. At the completion of the four year period a permanent position will be offered. The Council is committed to an Equal Employment Opportunities policy.
