Good behaviour in the Waimarino

• Ohakune Police would like to thank the proprietors of licensed premises of the Waimarino for the manner in which establishments were run through the recent ski season. All staff said there was more control throughout the

area, which resulted in fewer problems. One area of concern for the Police was the number of young persons carrying false or altered identification. This is always a headache for both Police and licencees. As a result, there were a lot of young people in the 1 5- 1 8 year age bracket holidaying in the Waimarino in groups, without adult supervision. Naturally they headed for the fun spots and night life. It did seem to the Police that many did find it too easy to purchase alcohol, and perhaps that is something we need to address next season. , Overall, well done, licencees.
