Trip plug not pulled
• I would like to reply to the letter published in last week's Bulletin ('Not a good start). Basically, it was very disappointing and hard to understand why this group of people in our community felt it necessary to attempt to undermine the credibility of not only a local business, but also of Mick and myself personally. The fact that they did not even have the courtesy to sign a name but hid behind a nom de plume also made me question their motives. As a small community I believe we should be all working together and not trying to pull each other
apart with gossip and innuendo. That aside, Iet's get to the facts of the matter. The "plug" was not pulled on the draw for the trip to Australia — it was postponed until the "official" ending of the ski season. This was always our intention if the season was extended past the long weekend. Unfortunately we were called away to deal with an urgent family matter out of town before we could organise to have someone draw the trip and only got back to Ohakune after the offending letter had been published. Please note that the Bulletin had tried to
contact us for a right of reply straight away. We are now organising for the trip to be drawn on Friday 17 November and the results will be published in the Bulletin the following week. In parting I would like to extend a big thank you to all the other people who dined in our restaurant during the ski season, your support was appreciated.
