A magic day at Waiouru
Meet Tania Nordick, magician come ventriloquist, and her partner Dickie. Together they entertained Waiouru Primary School kids with talking pictures, naughty 'knock knock' jokes and magic tricks. Tania has been performing magic for four years and has just started school tours from her home base of Tauranga. "I thoroughly enjoy it. I started in pre-schools because I thought it was the easiest, but it was the worst. Children are very discerning, when you make a mistake everyone knows about it, not like adults who keep quiet," Tania said. Waiouru children should be particularly di scerning as they were visited by another magician only recently, but no fault could be found with Tania' s act. The children were especially intrigued when Tania drew a picture of Dickie that started to talk. The picture of Dickie threatened to tell more naughty knock knock jokes so was promptly rubbed out. "I wouldn't get away with this, but Dickie can get away with it," Tania said.
