Thanks for fire cash
• May I through your columns say a very
big thankyou to everyone who helped make the fund raising stall last week such a huge success. We raised $1460 which has been handed to the Raetihi Volunteer Fire Brigade. This money will be used by the brigade to replace and/or repair equipment that was stolen during the recent burglaries. In particular I would like to thank the ladies for running the stall, the Raetihi Cosmopolitan Club for their $200 donation, Pricecutter for their $100; both the Cosmopolitan and Waimarino Clubs for allowing raffle tickets to be sold on their premises, and Neil McLean for selling raffle tickets. Richard Mott for the donation of 28 bags of potatoes, George Murdie from Ohakune for the donation of a toy fire engine, Ohakune Butchery for a meat pack, Cath Bowater for a box of chocolates, Merle Hussey for a doll, the Video shop for video vouchers. These were used as raffle prizes. Thankyou to all those who donated money, (in particular the senior citizens who were so generous), cakes, sweets etc. Please accept this as a personal thanks as there are too many to thank individually and thankyou to the community for supporting the stall. We hope that none of us will ever need the services of our Volunteer Fire Brigade, but if we do the knowledge that we have all helped them in some way to keep operating will be very satisfactory.
Faith
Wise.
