Jubilee bridge price

Replacement of the Jubilee Park foot bridge is to be the subject of a report, including pricing, the Waimarino Community Board decided at their last meeting. The bridge was removed in August because it was unsafe and irreparable, according to area engineer Don Sattler. He said the work could be looked at in conjunction with the 1996-97 annual planning process (which implies that no work would be done before June 1996). Board member Ben Goddard said it was important the bridge is replaced as it is part of the walkway system. He said redevelopment of the walkway was part of the Winning Waimarino project and that the bridge needed to be put back as soon as possible. The bridge provided access across the Mangateitei Stream to several amenities including the swimming baths, bowling greens and motor camp.
