Garage takes on the mail

Last Monday Shell Waiouru took over mail delivery for the Waiouru area from New Zealand Post. Under the terms of the new contract one person now delivers the mail as opposed to two, so some residents may notice their mail arriving later than it has in the past. Michelle (Shelley) McDonald has taken over the run for Shell

Waiouru. "We're happy to do it as long as Shelley is," Shell owner Doug Montgomery said. "They (NZ Post) always said one person could do it efficiently, so time will tell," he said. Shelley delivers six days a week though she said a reliever for Saturdays may be sought.
