Ohakune pharmacy burgled
WAIMARINO POLICE FILE • Ohakune Police are investigating the burglary of the Ohakune Photo Pharmacy during the early hours of Monday 28 August, when offenders removed the business' safe which contained a considerable amount of cash. The offenders broke in through the floor of the building. At this stage Police are following an avenue of enquiry but would like to hear from any member of the public that may have noticed an early model Holden Commodore, coloured red, in or around Ohakune during the past few days. • Police are investigating a spate of 'tagging' vandalism around the township over recent weeks. Several town businesses have been the subject of the intentional damage, which Police say will cost hundreds of dollars to remove. • Theft of property from Turoa Ski Resort is continuing, say the Ohakune Police. Visitors to the resort are reminded not to leave property unattended, especially outside cafeterias, after several thefts from the resort in recent weeks. • A pair of hire skis were stolen from a Rimu Street, Ohakune, address on 25 August 1995. Enquiries are continuing into the theft. • Ohakune Police recovered a red 10-speed bicycle, stolen from outside Waimarino Wines in Goldfinch Street, Ohakune, at around 8pm on Saturday 26 August. • A mountain bike taken from a Mangawhero Terrace, Ohakune, premises overnight on 24 August, was recovered a short distance from the address the following day.
