Tree planting ceremony
At 3 o'clock this afternoon there is to be a small treeplanting ceremony at the new Waimarino Health Centre in Seddon Street, Raetihi, to commemorate the end of WWII 50 years ago. Timed to coincide with the cessation of hostilities against Japan in the Pacific on 15 August 1945, the Waimarino Club and Raetihi RSA have combined to mark the occasion with a planting ceremony to symbolise a new beginning.
